How to care for titanium jewellery

Ø      Bangles with inlays cannot be pulled open and pushed closed, as this will force the inlay out.

Ø      Rings should not be dipped in silver cleaner as the acid could collect under the inlay and ooze out slowly.

Ø      Rings may be cleaned with a jewellery cloth or by using silvo or brasso, tarnished silver can be wiped bright again with a rough cloth.

Ø      After showing a customer a silver and titanium inlay ring, it should be wiped before going back in the showcase - this will stop tarnishing.

Ø      The silver inlays in rings and bangles will only usually tarnish if they are not being worn - the natural rubbing when being worn keeps them tarnish free.

Ø      Perfumes, after shaves and chemicals may tarnish the silver.

Ø      The fine satin brush finish can be put back quite easily with fine grit sandpaper - (p400) or with a brillo scourer. Work in one direction only.

Ø      Rings can be made with a high polish - this costs slightly more and the precious metal and titanium can end up slightly different heights.

Ø      As with all handmade jewellery tolerances are not 100%. Widths and sizes on specials and orders can have a 0.1mm - 0.2mm tolerance variant on wall thickness.
